Bobble-head Christianity

So … What is a bobble-head Christian? Oh you know a few! The ones with the
head so filled with knowledge about the things of God, the power of God, the
fullness of the Spirit. They know what the word says about virtually any
subject you bring up … yet they have no fruit of it in their life. The have
not walked ANY of it out. Their head is swelled with knowledge yet their
spiritual feet are small and underdeveloped from not walking in what they know. Big ole head .. Itty bitty feet. BOBBLE HEAD! (Work with me here, I am trying to paint a picture)

Learning is important, knowledge is important, but what is MORE important is that we believe what we have learned, and step out to walk in it. Not
just cram our noggins so full of knowledge that our head grows so big we become unbalanced. If you are not walking in the light that you have, you are not walking in faith, in fact, you are walking in darkness.

James 4: 17 (NIV)  If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.

“Christians, in general, are educated way beyond their level of obedience.”

When our heads are puffed up with knowledge without commitment to walk it out, it puts us in a very dangerous position. We try to take a step on those tiny atrophied feet … and we fall because we are so out of balance. Then we realize that we are immobilized by our lopsided development. Some of us are just going to have to step out at the risk of falling on our face just to get our WALK developed. Learning ABOUT God is not enough, we must act on what we learn, and do what He instructs us to do. Spiritual growth will only come from obedience

ONLY THE WORD THAT WE ACT ON WILL DEVELOP US SPIRITUALLY.

There are VAST realms of understanding that you will never acquire if you are not a doer of the word. There is a great deception in the body of Christ.

The deception is: “If I hear it and understand it, then I know it.” NO SO!

Just because you read and study everything on the planet about driving a car, it doesn’t mean that you know how to drive. You must practice, and apply your knowledge to gain true understanding of what it means to drive a car. As you continue to practice what you know, soon you will become a proficient driver.

If we do not act on what we have heard, the bible says we are deceiving ourselves. We think we understand and believe it, yet we don’t act on it. THIS MEANS WE DON’T REALLY BELIEVE IT! And that is the deception, we think we know it, when in reality WE DO NOT, because we don’t believe it enough to act on it. I means we are faithless, and without faith it is impossible to please God. (Hebrews 11:6  If we hear the word and do nothing about it, we are in rebellion, and disqualify ourselves from the blessing of God. WE ARE IN SELF DECEPTION, which is the equivalent of PRIDE.

James 1:22 ~ But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

Once action is taken concerning the Word of God, a wonderful cycle of growth and development begins. Acting on the word gives life to our faith and develops our ability to hear from the Lord, which in turn opens us up to hear more, which gives us more opportunity to act on what we hear, which gives life to our faith …. and the cycle goes on.  It is called spiritual growth.

Our walk must start with intimacy in relationship to our Father. Faith begins here, strength and courage are developed, and the new life we were created for is birthed in this place. For a new human life to come forth, a man and a woman must become intimate. Why would we think that our spiritual life would come forth another way? Intimacy with God is the birthplace of our new life in Christ. To be a Christian should mean that we are Christ-like. To be a true Christian means that we do, and say what we see the Father do. We are to only do those things that please Him.

John 5:19 (NKJV) Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.

John 8:29 (NKJV) And He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do those things that please Him.”

We live in the information age. Google any subject you want and you will
find countless “experts” on any given topic. Folks in general don’t know the difference between true revelation and mere head knowledge. When YOU experience God unveiling a truth to YOU personally, THAT is TRUE revelation. Getting true revelation for yourself will empower you to walk in it. We must not confine the demonstration of the Holy Spirit to mere intellect. That is RESISTING the Holy Spirit. We can’t give away what we don’t know, and we won’t know until we actually DO. We must submit ourselves to Jesus commands and practice what we know,

AND DON’T BE A BOBBLEHEAD.
